OSI'RION NOCTILUS
On his own from a young age, this Keeper of the Moon prefers the company of the forest rather than the bustle of Eorzea's cities. His quiet disposition and small stature make it easy for him to come and go unnoticed.Underneath his shy exterior, Osi is a bright soul who yearns for connection- to face his fears and make a place for himself in the world.
Osi was born under the name Rion Noctilus in the Black Shroud, but never knew his parents due to them falling to an enraged elemental when he was barely 2 years old. He was taken in by the Wood Wailers, and Mother Miounne looked after him for much of his early life.He was never good around people due to being small and not used to crowds, but once he could hold a bow, he learned to hunt quite quickly. The forest was like a home to him, and he knew how to navigate it from a very young age- so he made some money by selling stuff he gathered and hunted around the Shroud. He preferred to work alone, even though Miounne always wanted him to go out with supervision.Spending so much time alone in the woods made Osi very skittish around people, and he was very slow to trust anyone. Eventually, he learned how to reel his anxiety in a bit to appear sociable so he could at least sell the goods he gathered.He knew from a very young age that he wasn't like some of the girls he saw around Gridania, and hated being compared to them- he tried to suppress these feelings, but eventually he caved and confessed to Mother Miounne. She accepted him with open arms, and helped him through the early stages of his transition. He took on the name Osi'rion Noctilus, and started taking a hormone-changing elixir imported from Ul'dah in his mid teens.Osi likes traveling, and is quite good at going through places unnoticed. Years of hunting taught him how to stick to the underbrush to track prey, and it's served him well so far. He loves finding secluded places and setting up camp to enjoy the scenery.He slowly gained more confidence as he traveled- both in his confidence with people and with his own body. He used to wear baggy, full-body clothing, but now wears more comfortable clothing that allows him to move freely in battle. He now prefers sleeveless shirts so he can move his arms easier when using his bow. His pride in his appearance isn't much, but he is a whole lot more confident in himself than he used to be.

Osi’rion is a rather reserved Miqo’te, rarely speaking up and mostly keeping to himself. Growing up in the forests of Gridania led him to prefer quiet places where he can just be himself; around others, he tends to clam up and just listen rather than speak. When he does open up, he’s a sweetheart- always trying his best to help others, even if he has trouble getting his point across.He prefers sticking to things he knows about, but he has tried stepping out of his comfort zone as of late. This is especially true in fights, as he has a routine way of taking down enemies that he likes to stay true to. Anything unknown to him causes him to become nervous, something he tries to stay away from- though that isn’t always possible.Osi is incredibly insecure and doubts himself a lot in social situations; even though he knows his hunting skills are good and his combat skills are improving, he fumbles over his words and thoughts when talking with others.Despite his quiet nature, he hates injustice and will absolutely speak up if he sees anyone being looked down upon. Wanting to help people as much as he can is what inspired him to be an adventurer, so anyone who refuses to help someone for petty reasons puts a bad taste in his mouth.When around those he's comfortable with, he visibly calms down and lets his true personality shine more brightly (when those around him are happy, he's happy). He can get playfully snarky around those he likes, and may even start purring if he's relaxed enough. He tends to fall asleep next to warm things- whether that be a fireplace or a friend; so if he falls asleep in your lap, he truly trusts you.Deep down, Osi desperately wants to connect with people and learn about the world, but his quiet demeanor holds him back a good amount of the time. Anyone who can get through to him knows he’s a fiercely loyal friend, and he will defend those he loves with his life.
- Short stature, even for a Miqo'te- appears of average build, but has decent arm/back muscles from years of archery.
- Eyes are a bright magenta, rarely blinks except around people he's comfortable with. Has natural dark circles around his eyes, which can make him appear tired.
- Lightly tanned skin- occasional scars here or there, as well as his Miqo'te facial markings, but otherwise clear complexion.
- Hair is a slightly wine-tinted brown, not very curly- it's cut short and parted to the side. The fur on his ears and tail are similar in length/texture (with his ears having black tips).
- Has pointed fangs due to being a Keeper, rarely shows unless he smiles.
- Wears a wide array of clothes, though prefers clothing that allows him to move easily. Always wears a red bandanna around his neck.
| Hunting | Because of his many years living in the forest, tracking and hunting come very easily to him. Osi is very skilled at climbing trees and finding the quietest way through the underbrush while stalking his prey. He also has a fairly wide knowledge of basic plants and mushrooms that are edible that he can forage while hunting. |
| Music | Osi always had a good ear for music- he's not great at singing, but he loves playing instruments and dancing, and only really does it when he's alone. He tries to pluck up the courage to play around others, but he's not quite there yet. |
| Echo | As he learned after the Calamity, Osi has the Echo- albeit a very weak version of it. He is immune to tempering, but he can't see others' pasts with it- the most he can do is feel others' emotions through the Echo. Because his Echo isn't very strong, it doesn't affect his life that much, and he rarely brings it up in conversation. |
| Archer | Osi picked up a bow out of necessity- having a form of ranged attack while hunting has served him well over the years. He preferred knives for a while, but eventually picked his bow back up again. He's a very clean shot, especially in the forests of Gridania. |
